Este caballo a tamaño natural pertenecía al perito Francisco Pascasio Moreno. Y está justo a la entrada de este parque.
En la Intendencia Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, sobre la principal avenida de El Calafate, es un sitio que integra información actual y registros históricos de los aportes realizados por el perito Francisco Pascasio MOreno, de Charles Darwin, de J.A. Roca y de los caciques patagónicos, de los pioneros europeos y de los criollos . Todos ellos permitieron crear el Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, territorio que reúne una decena de glaciares, lagos, lagunas, montañas, bosques, pastizales esteparios y una fauna variada. En 1981 la UNESCO la declara Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad.
En el predio de la Intendencia hay esculturas de Darwin, de P. Moreno, de animales autóctonos, registros fotográficos de los pioneros y los habitantes originarios, etc. Es una visita recomendada por su fácil acceso y riqueza de información. Se puede recorrer el predio circundante, a través de un sendero interpretativo, identificar la flora autóctona, exótica o introducida. También un sendero de interpretación histórica, muestras de viejas maquinarias que se utilizaban cuando comenzó a funcionar el Parque Nacional, acontecimiento que lo transformó en la institución pionera para el desarrollo de la zona.
