This viewpoint can be found at West Braes Park at the western edge of the small Fife fishing town of Pittenweem on the coast of the Firth of Forth. The Fife Coastal Path passes through here above the clifftop with a clear view across the water and westwards along the coast towards the neighbouring town of St Monans.

The West Braes Project is a charitable organisation set up to improve the area around the park, including an outdoor pool and crazy golf course. The sign was erected to depict the view from south-east to south-west. Point of interest included are, from east to west:

ISLE OF MAY - An island with lighthouse lying eastwards out in the firth.
TORNESS POWER STATION - Situated on the East Lothian coast beyond the town of Dunbar.
DUNBAR CEMENT PLANT - Situated inland from the power station.

NORTH BERWICK LAW - Conical shaped volcanic plug overlooking the town of North Berwick.

LADY'S TOWER - Ruined tower on the Fife coast near the village of Elie.
ELIE NESS LIGHTHOUSE - Squat lighthouse on the coast out to the west.
ST MONANS WINDMILL - Restored windmill along the coastal path towards St Monans.
ST MONANS CHURCH - Medieval church on the other side of St Monans, the closest church to the sea in Scotland.
