On the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, an appreciation plaque for Danish nurses' participation in the Korean War was presented to the Danish Nursing Museum by a Korean representative.
Kyung Rim Shin presented the plaque to the Danish ambassador to South Korea, Einar Jensen, at a ceremony at the embassy in Seoul on 4 August.

The hospital ship Jutlandia was Denmark's humanitarian contribution to the UN effort in the Korean War 1950-53. On 23 January 2021, it was 70 years since the ship set sail on its first of a total of 3 voyages. 275 Danish nurses worked on the hospital ship Jutlandia during the Korean War.

In Jutlandia's hospital there was room for 350 soldiers, but for a large part of the time there was also room to treat civilian Koreans. It is believed that more than 10,000 Korean civilians, both children and adults, were treated.

The beautiful appreciation plaque can be seen at the Danish Nursing Museum, where you can also read articles and see hospital equipment from Jutlandia
