Construida en el Siglo XV, esta iglesia y su parroquia se remontan a los tiempos de la conquista de las tierras de Málaga por las tropas cristianas, exactamente al año 1485, siendo reedificada posteriormente en 1794 y remozada en 1819. Su interior es espacioso, pudiendo acoger a cerca de cuatrocientas personas.
Posee cuatro capillas cuyos retablos son muy antiguos y sus imágenes eran de un gusto exquisito, pero éstas desaparecieron en los sucesos de 1936.
El templo parroquial, con tres naves y una cabecera separada de las mismas por una cúpula de media naranja, tiene planta basilical. Está presidido por un precioso retablo dividido en tres hornacinas separadas entre sí por esbeltas columnas. En el nicho principal, el patrón, Santo Domingo. Además hemos de destacar la imagen de la patrona, la Virgen del Rosario, que fue la única imagen que sobrevivió al incendio de la iglesia durante la guerra civil.
Es una iglesia sobria, blanca en cal y luminosa, de estilo neoclásico, a pesar que la actual edificación tuvo su origen en el siglo XVI, siglo en el que se producen las rebeliones moriscas.

The parish temple, with three naves and a head separated from them by a half orange dome, has a basilica plan. It is chaired by a precious altarpiece divided into three niches separated from each other by slender columns. In the main niche, the pattern, Santo Domingo. We must also highlight the image of the patron saint, the Virgen del Rosario, which was the only image that survived the fire in the church during the civil war.
It is a sober church, whitewashed and luminous, neoclassical in style, despite the fact that the current building originated in the 16th century, the century in which the Moorish rebellions took place.
