This is wooden box, painted light brown and standing on an unfinished wooden post. It has real roof shingles on its mono pitched roof, and "Free Food Pantry" is painted in white at the top of the glass on the door, along with "Take What You Need Give What You Can" and "Non-Perishable Goods Only". As identified on the door glass, this was the work of Ethan Augustin of Troop 424, who placed it here for his Eagle Scout project. There is
another one not too far from here.
The pantry has a large top shelf and the lower section is divided into two compartments. There's really no rhyme or reason as to how the contributions are placed, they just go where they fit. The canned goods are mostly vegetables (and applesauce), and the dry goods are rice and beans. There are a few heat-and-eat meals, and even some pop, a few bottles of which were provided by yours truly.
