This chimney and a nearby building seem to be leftovers from the J K Mosser Franklin Tannery. The old map (listed link below) shows several large buildings and a branch railroad line. The area was first called Franklin before being renamed Mahaffey.
This chimney is quite tall at 80 to 100 feet. It has terra cotta tiling which is still in decent condition.
