The sign for the mountain is actually about 30' below the peak but it would just ruin the 360 degree views at the top. At the trailhead and here, signs point out that for years it was believed this was the tallest mountain in Virginia, it wasn't until later that surveyors proved otherwise.
Getting here: 3 mile round trip hike. Though strenuous, it is worth it.
