The report by Laura Watson - Business reporter (Midlands) and Josh Pennington - Content editor appeared on Cheshire Live on 19th August 2022 and reads as follows;

'Japanese restaurant and cocktail bar set to open in Cheshire town's empty bank'

"A Japanese restaurant and cocktail bar is set to open in a former Barclays bank in Cheshire. The Vault in Alsager is due to open in September after young entrepreneur Brad Lancaster spent more than a year transforming the old bank building in Crewe Road.

The 26-year-old owner of the popular Caster's restaurant in the town will be bringing in head chef Adam Steele, who boasts a glittering CV including serving the Queen at Buckingham Palace. Brad, who was born and raised in Alsager, says this next venture will be 'totally different'.

He told Stoke-on-Trent Live: "The Vault will be completely different to what people are used to. We are calling it a Japanese social dining experience which will be centred around sharing food.

"The idea for it came about when I noticed there was actually a lack of Japanese and Asian style places to go for food locally. There are plenty of options when it comes to takeaways but not many when it comes to actually going out and getting dressed up. So I thought I'd take it into my own hands."

The Vault will be made up of four different areas – a cocktail lounge offering a wide selection of drinks and snacks, a bar area for those who are not eating or waiting for a table and the main restaurant where the majority of diners will be based.

There will also be an enclosed outdoor area where people can enjoy al fresco dining all year round.

Brad said: "We opened Caster's in June 2019 and we haven't actually had one full year of trading yet without being interrupted by all the various lockdowns.

"So to say this project has been a challenge would be an understatement, but we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and we are really looking forward to welcoming some new and familiar faces."

He added: "The Vault will be a totally different vibe to Caster's. It will replicate the type of restaurant you would find in any major UK city centre, but the best part is that it will be on the doorstep in Alsager.

"We have a brilliant team around us, our head chef Adam Steele is heading up the kitchen side of things and we are using the same designer as The Ivy in Manchester for the decor.

"The town is becoming a hotspot for new businesses and homes. There's so much happening and I'm really excited for the future of Alsager, both from a business perspective but also as a member of the local community."

The Vault will welcome its first customers during a launch weekend on Saturday, September 10 and will be officially open to the public from Sunday, September 11. Bookings go live this weekend."
