Manteca's Historical Museum has a rich collection spanning from Native American Artifacts to pieces of the recent history.
On Feb. 10, 2006, the Oakland Tribune wrote: "Everything in here has to have belonged to someone who lived here or tells a story of the past of the town, ... People are surprised by just how much history is crammed (though well-displayed) in the museum," said the museum's curator, Ken Hafer.
The museum is operated entirely by volunteers, which allows for free admission but also limits the opening hours to just a few on four days a week. If you are on your way to or from Yosemite and happen to come through Manteca at the right time, come on in and be surprised! |
