The Dubai Mall has broken the Guinness World Record for the largest festive Christmas decoration.

Visitors who come to the shopping center these days, which is also the largest in the world, can see the 1,100-kilogram Christmas decoration in the Star Atrium and which is part of a composition of a total of five giant decorations.

The metal ornament was custom made for the Dubai Mall's festive campaign by US design firm Venue Arts and took two days to assemble and erect.

It measures almost 6,597 meters high with a diameter of 4,689 meters wide.

Last year, the Dubai Mall showcased the world's largest OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display at the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo.

It was the result of a partnership with Emaar Entertainment and the electronics company LG. The screen measures 7,639.03 square feet with a resolution of 1,700,352,000 pixels.
