[ES] La Torre de Belém de Lisboa empezó a construirse en 1514, bajo el reinado de Manuel I de Portugal, y hasta 1520 no finalizaron sus obras de construcción. Se encuentra situada junto a la desembocadura del Río Tajo, ya que desde este punto partían barcos y carabelas hacia América.
En el pasado fue utilizada como torre de defensa, como prisión y como centro de recaudación de impuestos para poder entrar a la ciudad. El diseño de la Torre cuenta con infuencias mozárabes e islámicas, y entre sus elementos decorativos posee un rinoceronte.
Este monumento fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en el año 1983. La torre alcanza una altura de 30,5 metros y consta de cuatro plantas más un mirador. En este Parque se ha construido esta réplica a una escala 1:3 de su tamaño original.

[EN] Belém Tower in Lisbon began its construction in 1514, under the reign of Manuel I of Portugal, and the works did not conclude until 1520. It is located alongside the mouth of the Tagus River, as many ships and caravels departed from here towards America.
In the past it was used as a defense tower, as a prison and as a custom house for ships entering the city. The design of the Tower includes hints of Mozarabic and Islamic architecture and there is a rhinoceros, among some of its decorative elements.
This monument was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. The tower reaches the height of 30.5 meters and includes four floors and one viewpoint. Parque Europa has built a replica on a 1:3 scale of the original size.
