A sign by the box reads:
The Happy Home Pantry is a sustainable food pantry that promotes putting an end to food insecurity within our community, and encourages surrounding communities to have a place for families to come and know that they are able to lean on others in hard times
We encourage you to Give what you can and take what you may need
The box itself is made of wood, painted lavender with yellow trim in the form of striped patterns on the two sides and back. It stands on a wooden post that is mostly the same yellow with a bit of the same lavender. "The Happy Home Pantry" is done in hand in white letters above the door, and "Give what you can Take what you need" is on the door's window. While the hinges and latch are in good condition, the door is slightly askew, so the box leaks a bit. It may be a good idea to donate leakproof goods or to wrap items with cardboard or paper wrappers in plastic bags.
The box is fairly well-stocked with both the proverbial canned and dry goods. The cans are mostly vegetables, although with the Thanksgiving holiday, there are a few cans of cranberry sauce, as well as beans and mac and cheese. The dry goods include bags of beans and rice, as well as some packets of flavored oatmeal aimed at the kids. Some of those packages were damaged by leakage, so I put what I could into a bag, pushed it towards the back of the box, and removed what was unusable while adding a couple bottles of pop.
