"Since the early native peoples made their home in the Pajaro River watershed over 10,000 years ago, the growth of our local population has put increased pressure on our fragile watershed ecosystem. Because water moves downstream, and activity that affects the water quality, quantity or flow at one location can affect areas further down the river. We all live in a watershed and our individual actions directly impact it."
