Childhood Friends bronze is located at Jefferson Elementary School at 1515 15th Street, Wyandotte. The bronze plaque was created by
Marshall Fredricks in 1958. The statue is comprised of two children flanked by a moose and a bear. It can be found on the exterior west brick wall along 15th Street. A smaller version of the bronze is on display in the collection of the Cranbrook Art Museum.
Smithsonian description:
A relief mounted to the brick facade of a school building. Two children, a boy and a girl, sit on a log in front of a bear and turn their heads to the proper left toward the bear's head, which is tilted, looking at them. A moose stands to the proper left of the children and bear, looking down on them. The sculpture has a blue green patina.
