While Bald Mountain is a relatively low summit that sits off to the north of the greater peaks of the High Uintas, I will argue that it commands one of the greatest views of the Uinta's high country.

To reach the summit, I recommend starting out from the East Fork Blacks Fork trailhead at N 40 53.060 W 110 32.335. Cross the bridge over the East Fork Blacks Fork to the east of the trailhead, and then take a left turn (northward) at the next trail intersection. Follow the "5 switchbacks" section of the trail up to the top of the broad north ridge of Bald Mountain. Shortly after crossing the wilderness boundary, veer right on trail 111.1 (Bald Mountain Trail) and continue hiking along the trail as it passes above the tree line. The trail will eventually begin running along the east side of Bald Mountain; one must hike off-trail to the south-southwest at some point to reach the summit of Bald Mountain.

The disk is set in the top of a quartzite boulder near the summit of Bald Mountain.
