" L'église paroissiale de Ploubezre est dédiée à saint Pierre et saint Paul. Son architecture hétérogène faite de remplois d'éléments anciens témoigne de son histoire multiséculaire : dans la nef, réutilisation de chapiteaux octogonaux du 15e siècle dont le style archaïque et fruste est encore imprégné de la tradition romane ; remploi d’un fenestrage gothique dans le transept sud ; clocher-mur, tour et porte monumentale ouest datés de 1577 élevés par l'architecte Jean Le Taillanter ; nef reconstruite en 1851 après un incendie ; abside, chœur, sacristie et chapelle latérale en 1871 et restauration des bas-côtés, des transepts et de la sacristie en 1895 par Claude-Joseph Lageat (1864-1929), architecte de Lannion.

Au-dessus de la porte ouest, on peut lire "CESTE TOUR FUT COME[NCEE] PAR I LE TAILLANTERM[AITRE]. LE 8 MAY / E LE F. LE BIHAN PROCUREUR POUR LA PAROISSE LORS EN L'AN 1577". L'architecte Jean Le Taillanter signe ici son œuvre. Il est connu pour avoir travaillé sur la tour de l'église de Plougasnou (Finistère) mais peut-être aussi à Loguivy-Plougras (église saint Émilion et à la chapelle du Dresnay) ou encore à Plouaret (portail du manoir de Guernanchanay).

Pour la communauté villageoise qui finance ces travaux, l'architecte développe des idées nouvelles et l’esthétique de la seconde Renaissance. La tour-clocher fait la fierté des habitants : sa haute silhouette marque le bourg de son empreinte tandis que le son des cloches rythme leur vie.

Foudroyé en 1817 et 1818, le spectaculaire clocher de type Beaumanoir a été reconstruit en 1830 à partir de la plate-forme.

L’église a été restaurée par l’architecte Jean Joachim Édouard Puyo (1821-1901, frère de Edmond Puyo). Ses 16 vitraux sont l’œuvre de Yan’ Dargent (alias Jean-Édouard Dargent : 1824-1899). Ils ont probablement été réalisés vers 1870-1880.

A voir à l'intérieur de l'église, les fonts baptismaux datables du 16e siècle, une chaire à prêcher réalisée par Le Merer de Lannion en 1902 et un ensemble de peintures dite "l'armorial de Ploubezre" réalisé en 1923.

Sur le mur nord du cimetière, on peut lire en breton Tud mad o pater a laverfet o tremen Ploubezre o berre ; ce qui signifie "Bonnes gens, dites vos prières en passant devant votre cimetière de Ploubezre"."

"The parish church of Ploubezre is dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul. He is known to have worked on the tower of the church of Plougasnou (Finistère) but perhaps also in Loguivy-Plougras (Saint Émilion church and the chapel of Dresnay) or even in Plouaret (portal of the manor of Guernanchanay).

For the village community which finances this work, the architect develops new ideas and the aesthetics of the second Renaissance. The bell tower is the pride of the inhabitants: its tall silhouette leaves its mark on the village while the sound of the bells punctuates their lives.

Struck down in 1817 and 1818, the spectacular Beaumanoir-type bell tower was rebuilt in 1830 from the platform.

The church was restored by the architect Jean Joachim Édouard Puyo (1821-1901, brother of Edmond Puyo). Its 16 stained glass windows are the work of Yan' Dargent (alias Jean-Édouard Dargent: 1824-1899). They were probably made around 1870-1880.

To see inside the church, the baptismal font datable to the 16th century, a pulpit made by Le Merer de Lannion in 1902 and a set of paintings called "the armorial of Ploubezre" made in 1923.

On the north wall of the cemetery, one can read in Breton Tud mad o pater awashfet o tremen Ploubezre o berre; which means "Good people, say your prayers as you pass your cemetery in Ploubezre"."
