Nationally Acclaimed Poet
Alden Albert Nowlan was born on January 25, 1933 in Stanley, Nova Scotia. He began working for the Observer, a newspaper in Hartland, New Brunswick at age 19. He began writing books of poetry. He published his first poem A Darkness in the Earth in 1958.
