St. George's Church bell is mounted on a circular concrete base, and flanked by a pair of signs which describe the history of the church. The bell is the center of a gravel oval.

St. George's Church survived the Halifax Explosion of December 6, 1917 but was ravaged by a fire on June 2, 1994 which destroyed 40% of the church and caused the dome to collapse.

The bell is inscribed:

C. MEARS & CO., FOUNDERS, LONDON, 1863
