Soukaisten Perttelin kirkko on erään perimätiedon mukaan Laitilan seurakunnan vanhin kirkko kristillisyyden alkuajoilta ja Pyhän Henrikin rakennuttama 1150-luvulla. Nykyinen kirkkorakennus on myöhemmältä ajalta. Kirkko on muodostanut keskiajalla oman seurakuntansa ja ollut Laitilan kappelina ainakin vuodesta 1544 lähtien.

Pyhälle Bartholomeukselle omistettu kirkko on Suomen ensimmäisiä kyläkirkkoja ja sinne on härkävankkureilla tuotu vainajia haudattavaksi pitkienkin matkojen takaa.

Nykyään kyläläiset huolehtivat kirkosta ja siellä järjestetään jumalanpalveluksia sekä seuroja muutaman kerran vuodessa.

Kirkko löytyy lyhyen ajomatkan päästä Laitilasta ja sen vieressä on koulu, josta löytyy paikoitustilaa autoille. Kirkon edessä on myös yksi geokätkö.

According to one tradition, on village of Soukainen, Pertteli church is the oldest church in Laitila parish from the early days of Christianity and was built by St. Henrik in the 1150s. The current church building is from a later period around 1800. The church has formed its own congregation in the Middle Ages and has been Laitila's chapel since at least 1544.

The church dedicated to St. Bartholomew is one of the first village churches in Finland, and the dead have been brought there by bullock carts for burial, even from long distances.

Today, the villagers take care of the church and worship services.
