This is a sample of hórreos (cabaceiros, canastros, piornos... lot of names) which are elevated constructions in which grain, flour, ham, sausages were stored ... The reason for being elevated is that this way the rodents climbed by the feet and when they reached the top and turned upside down, they fell. The "hórreos" in Galicia, etc. are examples of Atlantic constructions that there are in countries of this ocean or of Celtic traditions.
This hórreo is in a particular terrain woth the grass very high.
It is made with comfret and stone and over columns of stone. We are in the Pazo Torres de Agrelo, building of XIX century.
