The wood carving of a diving Kingfisher is located in the gardens of the Trentham Estate, on Stone Road in Trentham.

The Kingfisher carving can be seen between the river and the lake on the edge of the wetlands on the Capability Brown Walk at Trentham Gardens.
The ‘Capability’ Brown walk is a mile-long walk around Trentham Lake with wood carvings to spot along the way.
Capability Brown was employed at the Trentham Estate from 1759 to 1780, and his work included extending the mile-long lake and the landscaping of the surrounding parklands.

The Kingfisher carving was created in 2016 by Andy Burgess a professional Chainsaw Wood Sculptor.

A plaque located near to the carving gives the following information;
Kingfisher

Did you know... Although Kingfishers look
bright blue, they're actually brown. Their
blue colouring is the result of light striking
specially modified layers of feather cells.
