I have not found much information about this geneology, other than that it is a family that was in Galicia and in a large part of Portugal there is this surname.
The shield is made up of a lion with an open mouth and an incandescent tongue sticking out, showing its claws.
Above the lion, a closed helmet facing forward.
The coat of arms is at the entrance to the barrel vault of the old chapel of the convent of Santa Clara, a Portuguese Heritage Site.
