This U.S.G.S. benchmark disk is located just to the right of the steps of the Hancock Bank building on West Main Street in Hancock, Maryland. The disk is stamped with "Maryland" and the elevation of 448 feet.

The description on the datasheet says: "AT HANCOCK, AT THE HANCOCK BANK, SET VERTICALLY IN THE FRONT OF THE NORTH FACE OF THE BANK, 13.8 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH CURB OF MAIN STREET, 1.7 FEET WEST OF THE WEST EDGE OF THE FRONT DOOR, 1.2 FEET ABOVE THE SIDEWALK LEVEL. A STANDARD DISK STAMPED MARYLAND C-448."
