[FR] La partie nord des bâtiments fut remaniée au XVIIème siècle, sous Louis XIV, par l'abbé Le Prestre, parent de Vauban. Le pavillon jouxtant le cloître loge un remarquable escalier de pierre (dit "Vauban"), sur voûte en demi-berceau ram pant, qui mène au "Dortoir des Moines ".
Après la disparition du château abbatial, déjà ruiné en 1744, le bâtiment a été prolongé vers le sud, où un second pavillon surmonté d'un dôme à lanternon fait pendant à celui du nord sans en adopter du tout le plan et l'élévation.
Une observation minutieuse permet de déceler les façons différentes des deux parties de l'édifice actuel...
[EN] The northern part of the buildings was remodeled in the 17th century, under Louis XIV, by Abbot Le Prestre, a relative of Vauban. The pavilion adjoining the cloister houses a remarkable stone staircase (called "Vauban"), on a half-barrel ram pant vault, which leads to the "Dormitory of the Monks".
After the disappearance of the abbey castle, already ruined in 1744, the building was extended to the south, where a second pavilion topped by a dome with a lantern is a counterpart to the northern one, without adopting the plan and elevation at all.
Careful observation reveals the different ways in which the two parts of the present building were built...
