The station and the new alignment of the Gyeongchun Line opened in 2010. The Gyeongchun Line (Seoul to Chuncheon) dates back to the 1930s but the recent realignment was significant. In Cheongpyeong Station, there are two platforms (connected island) with four sets of tracks on each side of the island.
