The Fish of Gladstone are split into two groups: Offshore, and Intertidal - based on their habitat. While the Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) is a great intertidal fish, growing up 150cm, the Red Emperor (Lutjanus sebae) may be easier to catch - at permissible offshore reefs. A Spanish Mackerel is also shown on the sign. The sign also details 'Local Risks to Fish' - Overfishing, Pollution, and Nets - and 'How You Can Help'.

This is one of six signs around a cyclepath loop, on the northern breakwall/spit of Gladstone Harbour.
