About 1 mile after crossing the Laramie River to the southeast, County Road 51 turns to head northward. From the bend where the road heads north, drive approximately 0.5 miles and find a large cut taken out of the hill on the west side of the road. Walk to the top of this cut to find the marker.
When I arrived to search for the disk, I did not see anything at the location denoted on the USGS topo map. Looking to the north, I spotted a cube-shaped chunk of concrete about 100 feet away from where I stood. This piece of concrete turned out to be the top of the square concrete monument and still had the disk attached (the disk being in good condition). Upon returning to my coordinates that I had initially searched at based on the topo map location, I found the rest of the concrete monument broken off even with the ground surface. It looks like a piece of heavy equipment came through here at some point, broke off the top of the monument, and carried the top with the disc a ways off to the north. I left the broken top of the monument sitting on top of the broken base; unfortunately, this marker is not functional for survey purposes in its current state.
