The Rhode Island Hospital helicopter landing pad is on top of the Dudley Street Parking Garage between Dudley and Blackstone Streets in Providence, Rhode Island. The area is restricted to emergency and rescue personnel access only, though the pad's profile is clearly visible from the uppermost deck of the Willard Avenue Parking Garage to the south. Based on an image from the installer's website that shows the helipad from above, the Touchdown and Lift-Off area has a limited weight-carrying capability shown in thousands of pounds, in this case 22. The rotor diameter of the largest helicopter for which the TLOF is designed, 54 feet.
The steel and aluminum square landing surface is light gray with a white medical cross painted in the center and a red "H" in the center of the cross. The "H" is oriented east-west indicating the axis of the preferred approach/departure path. A ramp extends perpendicular to the north side and then turns east towards the Rhode Island Hospital Bridge Building. An access stair is on the east edge near the southeast corner.
There are several windsocks on poles in the vicinity of the square helipad - on the roof adjacent to the pad, on the adjacent Bridge Building's roof above and to the east, on top of the Willard Avenue Parking Garage across the street to the south and at ground level in a parking area, also to the south and immediately to the west of the latter parking garage.
