In een klein parkje aan de rand van Otterloo staat een monument dat de rol van het rode kruis herdenkt tijdens de evacuaties vanuit Arnhem en omgeving.

Dit monument herdenkt de evacuatie van veel mensen naar Otterlo tijdens de slag om Arnhem in september 1944. Otterlo 855 1955 Er zit een plaquette op met de tekst:

Vorm en materiaal
Het ‘Rode-Kruismonument’ in Otterlo (gemeente Ede) is een zuil van natuursteen. De zuil heeft een lange, abstracte, massieve vorm met afgesneden hoeken. Op de zuil is een plaquette in de vorm van een kruis aangebracht. Op de zijkant zijn een geglazuurd mozaïek en een reliëf aangebracht. Het monument is 1 meter 80 hoog, 1 meter 20 breed en 60 centimeter diep.
Oorspronkelijk stond het monument in de tuin van de Ericaschool aan de Kerklaan. Enkele jaren geleden is het verplaatst naar de huidige locatie.

The 'Red Cross Monument' in Otterlo (municipality of Ede) is a column of natural stone. The column has a long, abstract, massive shape with cut corners. There is a plaque in the shape of a cross on the column. The side has a glazed mosaic and a relief. The monument is 1 meter 80 high, 1 meter 20 wide and 60 centimeters deep.
Originally, the monument stood in the garden of the Erica School on Kerklaan. It was moved to its current location a few years ago.
