The Peace Plaza is at the foot of the steps to the main entrance for The War Memorial of Korea. The plaza is round and the perimeter is marked by the flags of Korean units which participated in the Korean War and the flags of countries which came to aid of the Republic of Korea. The international flags on display include United Nations, United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Turkey, South Africa, Belgium, Ethiopia, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, South Korea, United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Philippines, Greece, Luxembourg, Colombia, India, Norway and Italy. The war memorial opened in 1994.
As the flags make a closed circle, one general over-view photograph is not possible.
