The SIRIS description states: Relief of a "classic mourning figure, variously called Liberty, or Victory, extending her right arm toward the palm branch of victory while holding a shield with the arms of the United States in her left arm. In the background lied the sunken Maine."
The tablet is made of bronze and has a height of 13 inches. The bottom of the tablet reads: This tablet is cast from metal recovered from the U.S.S. Maine.
