The Fairbanks Ice Museum is a total blast and well worth the price of admission!
They offer a VERY AMATEUR film about the Fairbanks Ice Festival, held annually at the Fairbanks Ice Park from mid-February to mid-March. (see: (

The film is okay, but be mindful that the cameraman is not a professional, so there are lots of fast swings around between subjects, and no editing of those very rough transitions. This film made me a little queasy as a result, not gonna lie.
Afterwards, you get to explore a cold area with selected sculptures from the previous year's Ice Festival. You can sit on some and interact with others for cool (sorry) photo ops. There is also an ice slide that you can go on with a plastic sled -- 10/10 recommend you do this!
Finally, an ice sculptor gives a 20 minute demonstration of his craft, including how to add color and shade to the carvings.
In all, educational, fascinating, and FUN!
