Marshall News Messenger, Marshall, TX. Nov 4, 1938

"A recent appropriation of $11,500 has been made for Cass County highway between Atlanta and Linden. Part of this money will be used in making the roadside park with the remainder being used to beautify approximately six miles of highway right-of-way.

Mr. Macy also stated the work on the Avinger park, which is an NYA project, will begin Monday, Nov. 7."
