Pulpit in St Michael & All Angels' church, Taddington.
The pulpit dates from the Jacobean period (1603 - 1625) under the reign of King James I. Originally positioned on the north side of the chancel arch, and according to the history of the church written by J. N. Wordingham in July 2011, the pulpit was restored and repositioned around 1891.
It was again renovated in 1942 and a dedicatory wooden panelette added. It reads -
THIS PULPIT HAS
BEEN RENOVATED
TO THE GLORY OF GOD
IN MEMORY OF
JOHN WHITELEY
SOMETIME TREASURER
OF TADDINGTON
PAROCHIAL CHURCH
COUNCIL WHO DIED
