Het gebouw is van historische waarde door zijn lijstgevel en in het bijzonder door zijn onderpui. Deze werd in 1904 in jugendstil opgetrokken van hardsteen, roze geglazuurde bakstenen en blank teakhout. Dit gebeurde in opdracht van de destijds in het pand gevestigde apotheek Meulenhoff. De pui is ontworpen door architectenbureau De Herder & Hellendoorn. In het midden van de pui bevindt zich een gestileerde afbeelding van Asclepius. In de Griekse mythologie is hij de halfgod van de geneeskunde en genezing. Aan de uiteinden van de pui zijn twee vrouwenfiguren aangebracht in het hardsteen. Heden ten dage is de kledingzaak Purdey in het pand gevestigd en is het een rijksmonument.

The building is of historical value because of its cornice and in particular its lower facade. It was built in 1904 in Art Nouveau from freestone, pink glazed bricks and white teak. This was done on behalf of the Meulenhoff pharmacy, which was located in the building at the time. The facade was designed by architectural firm De Herder & Hellendoorn. In the center of the facade is a stylized image of Asclepius. In Greek mythology, he is the demigod of medicine and healing. At the ends of the facade, two female figures are embedded in the bluestone. Today, the Purdey clothing store is located in the building and it is a national monument.
