This new suspension bridge is just north of the
Triple Frontier (where Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina meet) and about nine kilometers south of the
Friendship Bridge that also spans the Paraná River. Until now, the 1965 Friendship Bridge is the only span between these two nations. According to
this article the new bridge, scheduled to be open to traffic by the end of 2022, will ease congestion on the busy Friendship Bridge and will facilitate trade and tourism. It is easily viewed from the Hito Tres Fronteras (a riverside park celebrating the Triple Frontier) in Argentina.
