Jenkins Obelisk at St Mary's church, Bolton on Swale erected to commemorate the longest living man in England. Unfortunately there is an embarrasing misprint on the plint.

Henry Jenkins (buried on 9 December 1670 in Bolton-on-Swale, North Riding of Yorkshire) was an English supercentenarian claimant said to have been 169 years old at his death.

Just outside the St. Mary's Church there is an obelisk erected to commemorate Jenkins.
But something went wrong when the mason had to print the letters on the plint. Look at the words in the second line:
"Erected by CONTRIBUTIO....." And then there wasn't more space so he had to lift up the "N" and simply put it up over the line.

The whole text says:

"This monument was Erected by CONTRIBUTION In ye
year 1743 to ye memory of HENRY IENKINS". The longevity of Henry Jenkins"
