Mais, dédiée à Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens, elle inspire à être très ancienne.
Le premier document connu date de 1262, il s’agit d’un legs au chapelain (prêtre) de Labeaume.
Une pierre gravée, comportant un texte en latin datant de 1340 se trouve scellée à proximité d’un autel. Le texte précise la fondation d’une chapelle privée, pour une famille locale et ses descendants.
Lors de leur fondation, ces chapelles étaient dotées de terres et revenus. Ces sommes recueillies permettaient d’assurer plusieurs messes par an en l’honneur du fondateur de l’autel et de sa famille et de pourvoir à l’entretien de la chapelle.
Deux comptes rendus de visites canoniques de 1675 et 1714, ont été conservés. Une description des lieux, certes sommaire, nous apprend que le chœur, entouré d’un banc en pierre, est de la largeur de l’église. L’autel, adossé à la muraille, est en pierre. Les dimensions de l’édifice sont plus petites qu’actuellement : « 14 pas de long et 5 de large ». Il comportait une nef centrale et deux bas côtés ainsi que trois chapelles : une dédiée à Saint Sébastien, une à Saint Pierre, et une autre à Notre Dame. Une quatrième chapelle de dimensions plus réduites abrite les fonds baptismaux. Un clocher à tour carrée muni de quatre fenêtres et de deux cloches existe en son centre. L’autel est surmonté d’un tableau de saint Pierre-aux-Liens. Le tabernacle est doré et orné de plusieurs figures et statues dorées. On trouve une tribune de bois aux deux ailes. L’ensemble, voûté en croisillons, possède deux fenêtres. On accède dans l’église en descendant 6 marches, alors que de nos jours on n’en trouve qu’une seule. Le cimetière jouxte l’église.
La paroisse toute catholique est composée de 110 maisons avec Auriolles et compte 37 granges, 500 communiants environ dont 200 pour Auriolles. Le presbytère est adossé au chevet de l’église et de l’ancienne sacristie le long de la ruelle bordant l’église. Il possède une cave, une écurie, un grenier à foin, une cuisine, deux chambres, un cabinet avec belle galerie ainsi qu’un jardin.
La paroisse possède deux confréries : une de saint Sébastien et une du saint Sacrement.
L’édifice tel qu’on le découvre à l’heure actuelle est une création du XIXe siècle. Il a subi plusieurs phases d’agrandissements et d’embellissements, grâce à la sériciculture qui a permis d’apporter des finances pour la réalisation de ces travaux.
L’église a été agrandie aux extrémités : on note 1825 côté entrée sur le linteau d’accès à la tribune, 1829 côté chœur sur la marche d’escalier. On peut lire sur le linteau du porche d‘entrée: 1846 ainsi que l’inscription : « c‘est ici la maison de dieu ». Le vocable de l’église est rappelé par la représentation de deux clefs. La date de 1860 est inscrite sur la fenêtre de la tribune. Seules deux chapelles ont été conservées. De nouveaux fonds baptismaux ont été créés. Le clocher a été abattu pour laisser la place à un nouveau. Les bancs et l’autel en pierre ont été supprimés pour laisser la place à un ensemble en boiserie. L’autel visible de nos jours a remplacé le précédent, il a été classé à l’inventaire supplémentaire à la fin du XXe siècle.

An engraved stone with a Latin text dating from 1340 is sealed near an altar. The text specifies the foundation of a private chapel for a local family and its descendants.
At the time of their foundation, these chapels were endowed with land and income. These sums were used to provide several masses per year in honor of the founder of the altar and his family and to provide for the maintenance of the chapel.
Two reports of canonical visits from 1675 and 1714 have been preserved. A description of the place, admittedly brief, tells us that the choir, surrounded by a stone bench, is the width of the church. The altar, leaning against the wall, is made of stone. The dimensions of the building are smaller than today: "14 steps long and 5 wide". It had a central nave and two lower sides as well as three chapels: one dedicated to Saint Sebastian, one to Saint Peter, and another to Our Lady. A fourth chapel of smaller dimensions houses the baptismal font. A bell tower with a square tower, equipped with four windows and two bells, is located in its center. The altar is surmounted by a painting of St. Peter the Lion. The tabernacle is gilded and decorated with several gilded figures and statues. There is a wooden tribune with two wings. The whole, vaulted in crosses, has two windows. The church can be reached by descending six steps, whereas nowadays there is only one. The cemetery adjoins the church.
The Catholic parish is composed of 110 houses with Auriolles and counts 37 barns, 500 communicants approximately of which 200 for Auriolles. The presbytery is leaning against the chevet of the church and the old sacristy along the alley bordering the church. It has a cellar, a stable, a hayloft, a kitchen, two bedrooms, a study with a beautiful gallery and a garden.
The parish has two confraternities: one of Saint Sebastian and one of the Blessed Sacrament.
The building as we see it today is a creation of the 19th century. It has undergone several phases of enlargement and embellishment, thanks to the sericulture that has provided the finances for the realization of these works.
The church was enlarged at the ends: we note 1825 on the entrance side on the lintel of access to the gallery, 1829 on the choir side on the staircase. On the lintel of the entrance porch, one can read: 1846 as well as the inscription: "this is the house of God". The vocation of the church is recalled by the representation of two keys. The date 1860 is inscribed on the window of the gallery. Only two chapels have been preserved. New baptismal fonts have been created. The bell tower was knocked down to make room for a new one. The pews and the stone altar were removed to make way for a wood paneling set. The altar visible today replaced the previous one, and was listed in the supplementary inventory at the end of the 20th century.
