La commune s'étend sur 46,6 km² et compte 977 habitants depuis le dernier recensement de la population datant de 2007. Avec une densité de 21 habitants par km², Arnac-la-Poste a subi une baisse de 0,1% de sa population par rapport à 1999.
Entouré par les communes de Saint-Hilaire-la-Treille, Saint-Sulpice-les-Feuilles et Saint-Maurice-la-Souterraine, Arnac-la-Poste est situé à 9 km au nord-ouest de la Souterraine la plus grande ville des environs.
Situé à 305 mètres d'altitude, la Rivière la Benaize, la Rivière la Brame sont les principaux cours d'eau qui traversent la commune d'Arnac-la-Poste.

The commune covers 46.6 km² and has 977 inhabitants since the last population census in 2007. With a density of 21 inhabitants per km², Arnac-la-Poste has seen a decrease of 0.1% in its population compared to 1999.
Surrounded by the communes of Saint-Hilaire-la-Treille, Saint-Sulpice-les-Feuilles and Saint-Maurice-la-Souterraine, Arnac-la-Poste is located 9 km northwest of La Souterraine, the largest city in the area.
Situated at an altitude of 305 meters, the Benaize River and the Brame River are the main rivers that cross the commune of Arnac-la-Poste.
