An iron bound oak chest, believed to be 14th century, in St Leonard's church, Monyash. This is a boarded chest, which is formed from six large boards nailed together was originally for the storage of vestments and alter plate. It is 10 feet long by 2 feet broad and bound with many clamps of iron.
This ancient chest has certainly seen better days.
