Our 12-hour trip from Fairbanks to the Arctic Circle took us through amazing scenery, engineering wonders, across this major latitude line (and our northernmost geocache find) - then finished up with a breathtaking Aurora Borealis show.
Private vehicles are not allowed on the Dalton Highway, so to get here you must be part of a tour operated by the handful of licensed tour groups that make this 12-14 hours-long trek.
