PT: "É a estrutura arquitectónica conhecida mais antiga da cidade de Amarante, a sua construção remonta ao século XIII. Atravessava a Ribeira de Padronelo que, outrora, separava os concelhos de Gouveia, na margem esquerda, e o de Gestaço, na margem oposta. Erigida em cantaria granítica possui arco de volta perfeita (de onde deriva o nome na gíria popular do local - Arquinho), românico e de granito bem emparelhado de tipo regular, com pico de grão médio assente sem argamassa. Aparelho pseudo-isódomo no corpo da ponte, com as aduelas e as pedras da abóbada que compõem o arco a apresentarem uma forma trapezoidal. As pedras do intradorso contém siglas de pedreiro com motivos geométricos (podomorfos e cruciformes). Possui dois corpos de paramentos laterais, um para Oeste e outro para Este sem qualquer pegão.

EN: "It's the oldest architectural structure known in Amarante, the construction goes back to the 13th century. Made to allow the crossing of the small river of Padronelo that, many years ago, divided two municipalities: Gouveia on the left side of the river and Gestaço on the opposite side. It's because of this bridges arch that this place it's commonly named Arquinho (the Portuguese word for small arch).
Built with regular granite stone, has a Romanic round arch, well paired up construction and all put together without any grout, The stonework of the bridge is to the "untrained" eye, set
with a false sense of regularity. With the stones that compose the vault exhibiting a trapezium form. The stones of the soffit surface contain stonemason's acronyms with geometric motives (cruciform and podomorphic). It has two facades, one to the West and another to the Este without any structuring pillar.
