It is one of three outside the library, and one of 17 such benches throughout the twon.

All the benches are inspired by children's books in to try and encourage the reading of books by children.

In this case the design is inspired by The Book Thief, which sounds a strange choice for a library, but this book is a highly popular and successful children's book that has been made into a film.
