[FIN] Turussa Kupittaan lintupuistossa on useita eri lintuja esillä. Puistoon on kerätty erilaisia maatilojen lintuja myös. Näistä kaikista on pienet informaatiotaulut kiinnitettynä verkkoaitaan.
Jättikoch on isokokoinen kanarotu. Kyltissä sanotaan että se on luonteeltaan lempeä ja sopii hyvin kotieläimeksi eli lemmikiksi. Itse en ihan näin kookasta kanaeläintä olohuoneeseeni ottaisi tepastelemaan.
Kyltissä mainitaan myös että Jättikochia saa jostain kaupasta useammalla eri värillä. Näitä on musta, valkoinen, buff, splash, laventeli, jne. Siinä onkin valinnanvaraa.
Jättikoch oli itselle tuntematon ennen tätä reissua. Nyt jos tuollainen jättimäinen kana tai kukko tulee vastaan, voin aika varmasti arvata sen olevan jättikoch. Onnistuin ottamaan näistä Kupittaan Jättikocheista kuvankin.
[EN] Kupittaa bird park in Turku has several different birds on display. Various farm birds have also been collected in the park. All of these have small information boards attached to the mesh fence.
Jättikoch (giantkoch) is a large chicken breed. The sign says that it has a gentle nature and is well suited as a pet. Personally, I wouldn't take such a big chicken into my living room to play around.
The sign also mentions that you can get Giantkoch in several different colors at some store. These include black, white, buff, splash, lavender, etc. There is plenty to choose from. Giantkoch was unknown to me before this trip. Now, if a giant chicken or rooster like that comes along, I can pretty sure guess it's a giant koch. I managed to take a picture of these Kupittaa giant koch.
City of Turku maintains these birds. They have been popular for many generations.
