EN: This sandstone fountain stands on a small park at a crossroads in the east of Riehen. The trough is square and has a side length of about one meter. The basin is round and is fed by two faucets located at opposite corners. The exterior of the trough is decorated with an abstract relief.
The fountain was created in 1974 by the sculptor Ruedi Schmid (*1931). It bears the title "Gänd Sorg zuem Wasser" (Take care of the water) and weighs about five tons. Schmid needed four million hammer blows to create the fountain.
DE: Dieser Sandsteinbrunnen steht auf einem kleinen Park an einer Kreuzung im Osten von Riehen. Der Trog ist quadratisch und hat eine Seitenlänge von etwa einem Meter. Das Becken ist rund und wird von zwei Wasserröhren gespeist, die sich an gegenüberliegenden Ecken befinden. Das Äussere des Troges ist mit einem abstrakten Relief geschmückt.
Der Brunnen wurde 1974 vom Bildhauer Ruedi Schmid (*1931) geschaffen. Er trägt den Titel "Gänd Sorg zuem Wasser" (Tragt Sorge zum Wasser) und wiegt rund fünf Tonnen. Für den Brunnen benötigte Schmid vier Millionen Hammerschläge.
