Little Free Library #37747 is located near the entrance to the Belle Isle Nature Center at 176 Lakeside Dr, Detroit, MI 48207. "The
Belle Isle Nature Center is located on the beautiful Belle Isle State Park, which offers the perfect location for educational, environmental and natural experiences in the metro Detroit area. This also makes it possible for the Nature Center to provide excellent educational experiences for schools, families and community groups.
Belle Isle Nature Center visitors are able to get an insider’s view of an actual beehive and get an up-close view of Michigan wildlife. A bird observation window allows guests to watch native and migratory birds as they feed from natural and supplemental food sources."
The LFL is made of wood, painted powder blue with little nature add ons such as butterflys, leaves, and insects. It is approximately 3 feet tall and is posted in wood chips next to the nature center sign. The side walls are made of a bark like substance. The entry at the LFL website says The interior is a single level with inventory at medium-low currently. "This library is maintained by the staff at the Belle Isle Nature Zoo. Come and spend a day reading and be surrounded by the wonders of nature."
