Carter Cemetery also known as Beechwood Cemetery is one of the reminders of the town of Beechwood, along with coke oven ruins and a few hidden foundations. Carter Cemetery has graves dating into the early to mid 1800's. Many of the marker stone are raw shale without any markings. The latest dates are from the mid 1900's. If not for the wooden sign the cemetery would be easy to pass by without noticing it. It has had maintenance in recent history but not this year.

"This cemetery was originally Beechwood Cemetery. This cemetery is located half way between Little Falls and Opekiska Dam on the Rails to Trails path. It is right off the trail on a little knoll with a sign that says Carter Cemetery." from Find a grave website.
