Centenarian Luceil E. Little is laid to rest at the east side of Section 11A at Fairlawn Cemetery, which is at the SW area of the cemetery. She shares an upright marker with her spouse Ivan L, who preceded her in death 15 years earlier. Their headstone has the following inscription:

Luceil Edna Hodges Little, 100, died Monday at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with family by her side. Services with the Rev. Mike Chaffin presiding will be Friday at 2p.m. in First United Methodist Church, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.
Little, formerly of Hennessey, Oklahoma, was born February 27, 1916, near Greenfield, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harry S. and Edna Hodges and the fifth of nine children. Luceil attended and graduated from Oklahoma A & M with a degree in education, and later received a Master’s Degree from Phillips University in Enid. She married Ivan Leroy Little in 1938, and had two daughters. Like relatives before her, she became a teacher. She taught at Drummond and later Hennessey public schools, retiring in 1976 after 23 years as an educator. Thereafter, Luceil dedicated herself to hosting grandchildren, nieces and nephews at the family farm during school breaks. Ringing the old school bell in the backyard garden was a favorite activity. Upon retiring from the farming business, she and husband Ivan moved to Stillwater to be closer to Oklahoma State University football games. Luceil had a heart for service, and as part of the Stillwater Elderly Nutrition Program, she and Ivan helped deliver food for Mobile Meals. Ivan and Luceil were members of the United Methodist Church in Stillwater. There, along with other church women, Luceil put to use her love of quilting by making lap blankets for nursing home residents. Following Ivan’s death in 2001, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she enjoyed being close to her daughter’s family.
Luceil was predeceased by her parents, Harry S. and Edna Hodges, husband Ivan Little, brothers Sheldon, Clarence, Robert and Dillon, and sisters Alma, Agnes and Evelyn.
Survivors include two daughters: Marilyn Corder and husband Karl of Penfield, New York, and daughter Hazel Seidle and husband Neal of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Christopher Corder of Huntington Beach, California, Wendy Corder Argento of Penfield, New York, Todd Seidle and wife Christy of Rogers, Arkansas, and Terry Slagle and husband Chris, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren, Craig and Audrey Slagle, Grace and Julia Argento, and Ariel Seidle; one brother, Bill Hodges of Glencoe, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews.
