Dating back to 1910, when this church opened it was still part of the Methodist denomination. The Methodist congregation in Point Leamington built their first church (on this site) in 1884. Like most Methodist congregations in Newfoundland, it became part of the new United Church of Canada denomination in the 1920s.
One hundred years later, St. Andrew's United is part of the Northern Arm Pastoral Charge.
