DEDICATED OCTOBER 13, 2002
The Angel of Hope was inspired by Richard Paul Evans' national
best selling book and the 1995 television movie, The Christmas Box. It is a story of a woman who mourns the loss of her child at the base of an angel monument. That monument once existed but was destroyed by floods in 1984. Evans commissioned a new angel in response to reports of parents seeking out the angel as a place to grieve and heal.
The sculpture is the creation of a father and son from Salt
Lake City, Ortho and Jared Fairbanks. It was molded according
to the description in Evans' book.
The Angel of Hope monument was brought to Newington by Duksa Family and who raise the funds to erect an Angel of Hope in memory of deceased children of Connecticut. Website: Link
